Box Shot!Ok, so I said last post that I was going to write a post as soon as I got my camera. Well, I suddenly became a little preoccupied.. with my new camera. By god. It has been a long wait, but I finally made it. Seriously, I’ve been waiting for this moment for so long, I’m just so happy I finally bought it all. From an Australian store no less, which makes the moment even sweeter. Let’s see. I ended up waiting until I had the money for the two lenses and everything else, and I’m so glad I did wait. It was tuesday night, the 10th when I finally bought it all. I bought it expecting (well, semi-hoping) that it’d get here by at least monday or tuesday (maybe friday at the earliest.) It wasn’t until wednesday afternoon that I had heard back from the place I bought it from, apparently they had shipped it off. Fuck yeah. Thursday shipping on an overnight company could only mean one thing, that.. it’ll be here overnight. I had received an email from AAE late thursday afternoon and I had hoped that it made the plane in time. Friday morning couldn’t have come any quicker, I checked but I saw nothing along the lines of “onboard with delivery driver”. Needless to say I was a little disheartened. Friday kind of went over like nothing had happened (quite boring in fact) and it wasn’t until later on friday afternoon that I randomly checked to see where my parcel was. I swear to you not 10 minutes after it had arrived in Darwin and was scanned in, was I screaming down to their depot with my consignment number and ID in hand. Hoooooooooly shit. I was excited. I picked up the box, and at first I didn’t click, but I was excited. I come home, opened it up and began my drooling.

Opening! First pieces! Oh god where is the camera? Oh that's right, another box.

I was slowly unpacking it all, not thinking too much, just getting it out, giggling to myself at these new boxes and putting them on my bed. It wasn’t until I got the very last box that I suddenly realised something was wrong. Where the fuck is the camera. Oh god. I think I just about nearly cried. I checked my email again, because I had noticed that when I was sent the email about the consignment number, it was sent twice. Apparently it wasn’t the same email sent twice, it was two different emails with two different consignment numbers. Mother. Fucker. Keep in mind this was all in the space of maybe 15 minutes. No sooner had I got home, I was out screaming down the road back to the AAE depot to get my other one. Fuck I felt like a retard walking back in there, but I finally returned with the goods I was after. The 5D, was now mine.

Nothing happened during the week following, I managed to sell my other camera off to Johnny, and I kept my parents happy for a while. Oh, the weekend after I had my new camera I had gone around to Hayden’s place for his 20th. Went around there sometime after lunch and spent the rest of the afternoon sitting around chatting. I got to test out the camera for the first time there too, oodles and oodles of fun.

Same deal after that weekend, I wasn’t doing much of anything really, I went out and took some more random photos, and worked. Speaking of work, holy shit do I think I need a new job. I’m so sick of working there, it’s not funny. I just don’t know what I want to do, it’s incredibly annoying. I want to get some kind of photography business going, but the problem with that is I have to have some money to get started, that and getting the word out. It’s just a pain in the ass. I suppose I’ve just go to go out and promote my site a little more.

What else. If you hadn’t noticed, this post is a little more pictures than actual content. I kind of can’t remember really what’s happened in the past few weeks of interest to anyone other than I got my new camera. I got a new tripod aswell (just last week actually, I’ve yet to use it properly, but it’s so much better, and bigger than my last tripod.) My last tripod, fully extended, was sitting just below my chest, which most of the times was a pain in the ass because it meant I had to bend down more to get to eye level with the camera. Now, holy shit my new tripod is huge. I’m kind of glad I bought it too. It was another one of those freak deliveries too. I had bought it tuesday night and by wednesday they had it shipped (or at least I was emailed saying it was shipped) but I wasn’t given a consignment number. By sometime friday I emailed the place I bought it from, and they replied with the consignment number not 10 minutes before the delivery van had rocked up. Fuck yeah! I spent the rest of the afternoon playing around with the new tripod and having way too much fun. I just can’t wait until I get around to using it.

Daryl & Brad Between my last post, I’ve been out in town randomly, for friday nights and saturday nights. Last friday Daryl and I were out piss-farting about when I saw Daniel and some attractive lady (who I didn’t know at the time.) Eventually got his attention and he wandered up to where we were sitting and introduced us to Anna (one of his work friends.) For the rest of the night, we were on the dancefloor dancing away with Anna, Daniel, Matt and Brad. We ended up staying there until around 3, when it was about time to leave. Saturday night wasn’t any more exciting, it was rather boring compared to the friday night (which is strange.) I didn’t see anyone I knew until at least after midnight, when I saw Jono out for Nick’s 20th. By around 1, I was about ready to pass out, and called it a night. It was ironic, I saw more people that I knew when I was leaving than I did while I was in there (I saw Jodie and Hayden on my way out.)

After that barrage of images, I’ll leave you with one more thing. I eventually ordered my business cards the other week. And holy shit they look awesome (at least I think they do.) If you hadn’t noticed the mass amounts of images posted, I’ll link you to the specific galleries I’ve got going so far.

September Photographs, Hayden’s 20th, and my Canon 5D Unboxing.

Next week. Paul Van Dyk is here. Everyone better be there on wednesday night. I don’t care who or where you are, it’s PvD. It’ll be fuckin’ awesome. After that, there’s Bodyrox on at Time on saturday! Even better!
