Cruise

What an interesting week. Well, not really, but you get the idea. I’m also finding that my posts are almost weekly in that I normally talk about my night before, and I think I’m repeating myself. Ugh, either way, I’m getting sick of my monotonous daily life that consists of: Sleep, Uni, Work, Internet. I’m starting to get bored and I don’t think I’m going to be able to change it for a while. Work isn’t any better I suppose, I mean, I missed the point of being at work on saturday. It sucked hard, which I suppose contributed to my saturday night. Matt made me realise this saturday too, because while he was out the back he had said something along the lines of kmart being a waste of time and it’s always the same thing day in and day out. For me it involves dropping the stock, processing the stock and then a mad rush at the end of the night to clean up. On a normal saturday it isn’t any better, normally it involves cleaning up the mess that was neglected during the week and stupid jobs around the store (if I’m feeling generous). Not only is it starting to get on my nerves, as are most of the people that work there. Take for example, tuesday night. There was a pallet of exercise equipment on the very top racking there and because we had removed the dodgy corkboard that was laid across the fixtures to hold up the pallets better, it had made putting the pallets up there extra hard. Well, you can imagine a pallet fully stacked with things that weigh upwards of 35kg, overhanging on the pallet being put up in the fixture (you probably can’t, but imagine putting something that weighs a ridiculous amount on the very edge of a table). Needless the say, the pallet had fallen at the back after me saying to Troy, “that pallet isn’t on the fixture properly…”

Troy: “Yes it is.”

Well, I had wandered on to the floor and returned only 5 minutes later to find the pallet in the state of unpickupable. Of course that resulted in me getting up ~20m in the air to try and fix the mess. Eventually it ended up with the pallets being thrown off the very top and hitting the ground with an immense force. But things like that are things that just annoy me. And I still hate Rod.

Apparently my outings to town are apparently bad for me. This is coming from the same people I work with. I go out because I want to go and have some fun (oh, and to meet some new lady friend, but that’s just a perk) and isn’t necessarily me going out and getting plastered all the time which is what people think I go and do. Get fucked. I do nothing else, and going out every now and then results in me being branded as a town whore. Fair enough I’m normally left with no money by the end of it, but fuck, I need to have fun, and so far, music is my only muse. Nothing else fuckers.

So friday night I went down to nightcliff beach where Renée was having her birthday party (what an odd choice, but whatever). So I wandered down there after work, which was around 10 or something like that to find them all absolutely drunk and screaming around. Anyway, around midnight, we all decided (at least Lala did) that we were hungry for some maccas, and being the only sober one there at the time, it was decided that I was to drive and by god that was the most interesting drive I’ve had in a long time. We were listening to music as loud as it could get and they were dancing and screaming and hanging out the window while it was raining. We past some car full of people obviously going out to town and with Eike hanging out the window screaming and Nat in the front seat moshing, they noticed us. So we got to the lights and lo-and-behold they drove up next to us. So we all wound down our windows and we were screaming at them, and they were screaming at us. Not in the angry sense because they could tell that everyone in our car was absolutely smashed. Good times.

Photos from saturday night.

Remember how I said that Michael’s party cruise was on that night? Well, it was awesome. We started off at the cavanaugh where we proceeded to have some drinks and talk to people we knew. The majority of our group were in playing the pokies (addicts!) but there were still enough people near the bar to socialize. We were served pizza there which I knew wasn’t going to be enough for me, but I still ate some knowing that if I didn’t eat, I’d be raving drunk before we hit town. Which isn’t a completely bad thing, but bad nonetheless. So around 7:45 we jumped in a few buses and headed down to Cullen Bay where we boarded the Spirit of Darwin (if you are browsing my attempt at a photoblog, it would be around number 50). So while on the boat, we all proceeded to the very top level and sat down for a photo. Of course, the sea just in front of the dock is as rough as anything, so the moment we left the bay, the whole boat was rocking backwards and forwards for a good 15 minutes. Eventually it smoothed out and we continued past the wharf and around the harbour. Meanwhile everyone on board is still drinking and having fun. I’ve also recorded some audio and stuff, but when I work out how to convert them to mp3 I’ll link them.

After the cruise we went around to Lost Arc, Shenanigans and then the Vic. By the time we had all got sick of the Vic, it was around 1-1:30 and everyone was at the “I’ll hit the next person that looks in my general direction” stage of being drunk, and with everyone being rowdy, it was inevitable that there were to be some fights. So outside of the Vic in the mall there was some yelling with some bald guy that was on the cruise with us, but that eventually subsided. Oh! While I was standing around with a couple of people, I said that one of the bouncers that I knew said that the police would be there soon, but I said the piggies, and hey, I didn’t notice these two big bulky guys standing there too. The moment I saw them I was like “god damnit, you guys are under cover cops, aren’t you?”. Both of them nodded their heads but said they were off duty (my ass you were). Of course I profusely apologized for saying piggies, but got over it after talking to them. So anyway, the rest of us headed off to Discovery for some hopeful dancing with ladies, but only got within 20m of the front door when all of a sudden the same guy that was starting yelling at the front of the vic (along with the bald guy and some black guy) were running across the road and were pushing each other. Well, the black guy chased this asian guy off into a one way street while the bald guy ripped apart a bin and got the bottles in there and started throwing them randomly into the one way street. At that point I was like, nah, fuck that, Poooleeese! Initially I thought to myself “I better call 911″ (lol Americanisation) and proceeded to dial 911 and realised that won’t work. So I got in contact with the police person in darwin and told her that there was a fight going on and empty bottles being thrown around and stuff like that. So I hung up and saw Hayley, and we decided to get the fuck away from them all before it got too serious (as it already hadn’t).

Eventually I wound up by myself dancing at the front of discovery (by then I had decided to fuck the night away and had two jagerbombs, skulled the remainder of the red bull and skulled a smirnoff red. Now I know that’s not really fucking the night away, but I just didn’t care at that point). I mean, I had lost Nick and everyone else that I was with to the fight going on outside and the only reason I didn’t stay was because I didn’t want my night to end up in the hospital. I actually found out later on that Martin went to the hospital because the same asian guy played dirty and smashed Martin over the head with some kind of pole or bottle. Anyway, so I spent 2 hours dancing up the front near these ladies (which I now regret not asking the one I was closer to for a dance or something like that, but oh well) until the club closed. Of course, once the club closed, the same, angry people were at the front and another fight erupted on the street which in turn convinced the people on the side of the road not to disperse and wait for another fight. Me, I was one to stay inside the doors talking to Natalie and Madeline with the safety of bouncers both inside and out (whatever was left of them).

I’m not a happy person at the moment and this was one insane posting.
